This lovely event is co-sponsored by the following amazing local groups who look out for this vegan community and look out for animals. Each has it's unique mission and approach to improving the lives and animals and our planet. I encourage you to get to know them, and maybe even get involved.
Action for Animals
AFA operates under the simple principle that animals do not exist for humans to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment. We promote a Vegan lifestyle. AFA strives to end animal suffering through educational outreach, demonstrations, and media involvement. http://www.afa-online.org/
Earth Residents United
Earth Residents United is a Seattle-based animal advocacy organization that recognizes the interrelation of the earth and all of its inhabitants. Earth Residents United brings people together to work toward a better future by means of creative, professional strategies. Current focus is on the 1130 Initiative; about six million egg-laying hens in WA are crammed into cages so small, they can barely move an inch for virtually their entire lives. 1130 simply ensures that these animals have enough room to stretch their wings. http://yeson1130.com/
Green Vegans advocates the spread and implementation of the New Human Ecology to achieve seven minimum results. We do this within a context of campaigning for healthy, intact ecosystems, social and economic justice, negative human population growth, a vegan human ecology, ecologically sustainable economic systems, compassion for all beings, and changes in citizen consumerism. http://greenvegans.org/
The Northwest Animal Rights Network (NARN) is a Seattle-based animal rights organization. NARN has been dedicated to ending the exploitation of animals by raising awareness of animal suffering in the food, entertainment, experimentation, and fashion industries since 1986. Our efforts include outreach, demonstrations, litigation, and educational events. http://www.narn.org/
Seattle Animal Defense League is a Washington based animal rights group that works to end cruelty towards nonhuman animals by advocating a vegan diet and engaging in campaigns to alleviate their suffering. SADL is a grassroots organization that relies upon donations and volunteer efforts to carry out its mission. http://www.seattleadl.org/
